Julie joined Moore Ingram Johnson & Steele in 2011. While in law school, Julie clerked for a small civil litigation firm in Knoxville, Tennessee where she stayed on to practice as an attorney after graduation. There she gained over two years of experience in the areas of personal injury, workers compensation, estate planning, family law, and elder law. She now practices primarily in the area of workers compensation.
Julie received her B.S. in Business, Concentration in Management, from Indiana University's Kelley School of Business in 2005. She received her J.D. from the University of Tennessee College of Law in 2008. In law school Julie was a Student Materials Editor for the Tennessee Law Review and an officer of Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity, McReynolds Chapter. She received a Certificate of Academic Excellence in Trial Practice and won the Judge Harry B. Laughlin, Jr. Case Note Award. In 2006 the Tennessee Law Review published her article entitled Property Law--Wills--Effect of Lapsed Residuary Gifts in the State of Tennessee, which is cited in the leading Tennessee treatise Pritchard on the Law of Wills and Administration of Estates. After the article's publication, the Tennessee General Assembly enacted Tenn. Code Ann. § 32-3-112 "Disposition of residue," which codifies the recommendations that Julie proposed.
Julie is a member of the Knoxville Bar Association and the Tennessee Bar Association. She is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of Tennessee, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee, and the United States Department of Veterans Affairs.
Julie lives in Knoxville, Tennessee with her husband Gregg and her cat Siva. She enjoys travel, reading, writing, and following the 24/7 news cycle.
