Robert D. Ingram specializes in commercial litigation and also defends tort and workers’ compensation claims.  Robert received his undergraduate degree at Kennesaw College with honors and his law degree from Emory University School of Law.  He was admitted to practice in Georgia in 1984 and in Tennessee in 1999.  Robert served as President of State Bar of Georgia for 2005-2006 and was President of the Cobb Bar Association for 1998-1999.  He was elected to the State Bar Board of Governors from 1993 - 2007 and to its Executive Committee from 1999-2007.  Robert chaired numerous State Bar Committees including the Bench and Bar Committee from 1997-2004.  He was selected by the Georgia Supreme Court as a Special Master for disciplinary proceedings, and has served on both the Investigative Panel and the Review Panel of the State Disciplinary Board.  Robert is a Commissioner with the Georgia Judicial Qualifications Commission for the 2006-2010 term.  He also served on the Chief Justice’s Commission on Professionalism from 2003-2005.  The Directors of the State Board of Workers’ Compensation have appointed him as a member of their Advisory Council from 1996-2008.  Robert is a Fellow and past member of the Board of Trustees for the Lawyers Foundation of Georgia and the Georgia Bar Foundation.  He is a past Chair of the Georgia Institute of Continuing Legal Education, and the State Bar of Georgia's Foundation of Freedom Commission.

He currently serves on the Board of Trustees for the Institute of Continuing Judicial Education and on the Georgia Supreme Court Commission on Legal Education.  He is a member of the Georgia Defense Lawyers Association and the Defense Research Institute.  He was the recipient of the Cobb Bar's 2005 Annual Professionalism Award.  He has been selected by his peers as one of Georgia’s Super Lawyers for 2004-2008 in an annual nomination and polling process conducted by Atlanta Magazine.  He has been nominated and selected by his peers for inclusion in the 2006-2008 editions of The Best Lawyers in America.  He is also a member of the Old War Horse Lawyers Club in Atlanta.  He currently serves as a member of the Federal Judicial Screening Panel, which assists U.S. Senators Saxby Chambliss and Johnny Isakson in recommending federal judicial nominees and U.S. Attorney Generals to President George W. Bush.  He is a past member and Chair of the Noonday Baptist Association's Board of Trustees.  He also serves on the Board of Directors for Northwest Bank & Trust and the Georgia Self Insurer's Association.  

Robert and his wife, Kelly, have been married 25 years and have two children.  Their son, Ryan, is a student at Mercer University’s School of Law, and their daughter, Morgan, is a student at the University of Georgia.  The Ingrams are active in a number of civic and community organizations and are members of NorthStar Church in Acworth.
