Katie is a native of Clinton, Tennessee and graduated from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in May 2003 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Sociology with an emphasis in environment and society. She obtained her Juris Doctor degree from the Thomas M. Cooley Law School in May 2006. While in law school, she was on the dean’s list and worked as a public defender in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Upon the completion of law school, she relocated to Melbourne, Florida where she practiced personal injury law at a prominent plaintiff’s firm. She returned to East Tennessee and worked at a plaintiff’s litigation firm, her practice was concentrated in personal injury, estate planning, probate litigation and workers’ compensation.
Katie is admitted to practice law before the Supreme Court of Florida, the Supreme Court of Tennessee and the United States Federal Court, Eastern District.
Katie enjoys University of Tennessee football, white water canoeing, hiking, fishing and traveling.
