Brent Laman joined Moore Ingram Johnson & Steele in 2014 as an associate in the Knoxville office. His practice is primarily devoted to civil litigation with an emphasis on creditor’s rights representation, business litigation, landlord-tenant law, insurance defense and bankruptcy.
Brent was born in Knoxville, Tennessee. He was admitted to the Tennessee Bar in 2013 after receiving both his B.A. and J.D. from the University of Tennessee. Prior to joining Moore Ingram Johnson & Steele, Brent worked as an associate for a regional firm in their Knoxville office. Much of Brent’s practice is devoted to civil litigation and he has experience representing individuals and business entities in various matters, including contract disputes, property tax appeals, business entity formation, real estate matters, insurance coverage disputes, insurance liability defense, and workers compensation insurance defense. Brent also represents several homeowners associations across East Tennessee and regularly represents creditors in bankruptcy proceedings, foreclosures, evictions, and repossessions. Brent is admitted to practice in Tennessee and in the United States District Court for the Eastern, Middle and Western Districts of Tennessee. He is a member of the Knoxville Bar Association.
Brent lives in Knoxville with his wife, Hana, their son, Henry, and their two dogs. In his leisure time, he enjoys playing tennis and basketball and spending time with his family.
