Derek Brown joined Moore Ingram Johnson & Steele in 2017 as a member of the firm’s Litigation department. His practice is focused primarily in the area of Worker’s Compensation. Born on October 13, 1988, Derek is a Georgia native growing up just minutes from the city of Atlanta, in Henry County. He received his undergraduate degree from Georgia Southern University where he majored in Political Science, with a minor in Philosophy, and was a member of both the Pi Sigma Alpha (National Political Science Honor Society) and Phi Sigma Tau (International Philosophy Honor Society).
Derek was awarded his J.D. from the Mercer University Walter F. George School of Law where he was a member of the Mercer Law Review. He graduated Cum Laude in 2016 with a Certificate in Advanced Legal Writing, Research, and Drafting. During his time in law school Derek clerked for the Honorable Wade M. Crumbley in the Henry County Superior Court, as well as several well-respected plaintiff’s firms in the Macon and Atlanta areas. Derek was admitted to practice law in Georgia in 2016.
In his spare time Derek enjoys traveling abroad, playing sports, hunting, fishing, and spending time with his friends, family, and giant black lab Jase.
