Prior to law school, Marie completed her B.S. in Legal Studies and was employed in restaurant management for several years. Marie then attended Georgia State College of Law where she completed her Juris Doctor in two and a half years, with pro bono distinction. While in law school, Marie received a CALI Award granted for the highest grade earned in a law course and the American Bankruptcy Institute Journal published her article on student loan debt. During that tenure, Marie interned for the Honorable Lana Layton, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and the Honorable Pam Ferguson, Clayton County Probate Court. In 2016, the State Bar of Georgia recognized Marie as a Pro Bono All-Star.
Before joining Moore, Ingram Johnson & Steele,, Marie practiced in tax defense litigation and then served as staff attorney to the Honorable Judge Jason B. Thompson, Fayette County State Court.
Marie is also a registered mediator with the Georgia Commission on Dispute Resolution and has successfully mediated over a hundred landlord/tenant disputes.
Marie lives in Fayetteville with her husband, children, and dog. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
