Zachary Powers is admitted to practice law in both Tennessee and New York, with experience handling matters involving the defense of a wide variety of workers’ compensation claims, federal and state labor and employment law, contract disputes, real estate transactions, estate planning, home owner associations, construction law, and more.
Zach attended undergrad at the University of Tennessee – Knoxville, where he studied history and political science and graduated with honors. Zach is also a graduate, magna cum laude, from Albany Law School of Union University, where he was the Associate Editor of the Albany Law Journal of Science and Technology and a Torts and Property Law ACES Teaching Fellow.
As a legal intern with the Family Violence Litigation Clinic and Immigration Project at the Albany Law Clinic & Justice Center, Zach counseled clients, appeared in Schenectady County Family Court (NY) on their behalf, and conducted research on the interplay between New York State family law and federal immigration law.
Other activities during law school included an internship in the Counsel’s Office of the New York State Department of Labor and participation in the Matrimonial & Family Law Pro Bono Project of the Office of Child and Family Services of Rochester, NY.
Zach is married to his lovely wife Ragan, who is a nurse in the Knoxville area.
